About JoJo Gaul, LCSW-C
Why I do what I do:
About me and my training:
I work from a strengths-based perspective and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Skills (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), and Mindfulness to help clients achieve their goals.
I constantly strive to meet the individual needs of my clients by balancing their desire to be validated and their desire to change and learn skills and tools.
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and my Masters in Social Work from the National Catholic University School of Social Service in 2001.
I value being authentic, responsive, fully committed, creative, and hopeful for my clients.
Personally, I love being outside, especially in/near water, listening to podcasts of all kinds, bonfires, stars, tea, caramel macchiatos, cute coffee shops, feeling strong (sometimes), good pizza, playing cards, fun conversations with strangers, and being with family and friends.
